Nailsea Methodist Church Centre Facilities

The Nailsea Methodist Church Centre comprises the main church building and the adjacent Wesley Building. The main church building is on two levels with meeting rooms, kitchen and toilets downstairs and an open plan worship area, vestry and office upstairs. The entrance is via a mezzanine with further toilets and lift to all floors. The building is fully accessible to wheelchair users, includes baby chaning facilities and disabled toilets and the worship area is fitted with a hearing aid loop.

This view shows the main church building with the Wesley Building to the left. There is a large car park at the front with level access to the front entrance on the mezzanine level.

The lower floor provides two large multi-purpose rooms one of which is carpeted (Room 1), the other with a polished easy-clean floor (Room 2). There are also four small rooms (Rooms 3-6) which can be used for meetings, prayer counselling etc. One of these rooms is currently dedicated to Wellspring Counselling and the Citizens Advice Bureau. The kitchen area is fully equipped and opens via serving hatches onto both Room 1 and the lower concourse. The toilets included a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.

The upper floor comprises a large worship area which can seat up to 300, or can be cleared for dance classes, keep fit or other activities. The communion table and lecturn are placed on moveable staging and can be easily moved to allow worship to be conducted either sideways, longways or in the round. Leading off the worship area is storage for chairs and staging and steps up to the main church office and another 'quiet' room.
Next door the Wesley Building includes a large general purpose sports hall suitable for basketball, 5-a-side football, badminton etc. There is also a coffee bar area, a general pupose room, an IT room and fully equiped kitchen. The building also includes the MYCON youth workers' office and a toilet. The Wesley Building is used by the Gymn Club and the MYCON (Methodist Youth Club of Nailsea) and has storage for both Gymn Club and sports equipment.

This view shows a Barn Dance taking place in the worship area in the main building which has been cleared of chairs. The facilities of the Nailsea Methodist Church Centre are already used by a wide variety of community organisations during the week and of course are packed on Sundays for morning and evening worship and junior church. The various facilities are available for booking by outside organisations on either an occassional or regular basis and all bookings enquiries should be made to the church office Tel. 01275 854304 between 10.00am and 12.00 noon Monday to Friday.
